The second annual Fire Family Fun Jam will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 9 am to 8 pm at Fire Sports & Recreation (inside Journey Church (5250 E US 36, Avon, IN 46123).

This event is for all basketball players, enthusiasts, fans, and families.

At the Fire Family Fun Jam, we will have refereed, open scrimmages for various age groups (grade 4 through adult), shooting and skills competitions (must register and qualify), family activities, dj’d music, as well as plenty of spectator seating and food (for purchase).  This event is free for everyone.

Co-ed Refereed Open Scrimmage

  • 10:30-noon- Grades 7 & 8
  • 2-4 pm- Grade 9 and UP
        • High School
        • College
        • Adult
      • Each age group will have designated times of play (see schedule below).
      • Players will sign in and be placed on teams of 5 based on the order in which they sign in.
      • The first 10 players will play 5v5 for 7 minutes (running clock) or the first to 21 (2’s and 3’s), whichever comes first.

Once a game concludes, the next 5 on the list take the court to face off against the winner of the previous game. Winners may only stay for a maximum of 3 games. The losing 5 will put their names back on the list and be put on a roster of 5 in the order in which they sign in.  This allows us a simple way to mix up teams throughout the segment.

Our referees are IHSAA certified, professional referees that have also been vetted and prepared by Fire to call the games in such a way to create a family-friendly, fast-paced sense of community through competition.

      • Advantage/disadvantage calls
      • All violations lead to inbounding the ball from appropriate spot per NFHS rules
